1. Learning to Climb and Build Nests
The orangutans at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo go through rigorous training to learn everything their mothers would have taught them in the wild, from climbing to nest-building.
2. Settling In
One orphan is new on the scene at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and needs another, more experienced orangutan to help him settle in. The babies are at high risk from parasites when they ingest mud.
3. Expert Thieves
The orangutans at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre demonstrate their cleverness as they watch the staff closely and steal food whenever they can.
4. Baby on the Way
It's not unusual for a rehabilitated orangutan released to the wild to venture back to the sanctuary for a visit. The staff prepares for the birth of a new baby orangutan.
5. Dealing with Stubbornness and Illness
A young orangutan who arrived at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre after losing his mother settles in, but he needs motivation to practice climbing. One of the older males requires an x-ray.
6. Feeding Time
It's feeding time at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, and the primate inhabitants must learn the tricky task of finding food for themselves. Two of the females go missing, and the staff starts to worry.
7. Relocating a Wild Male
A young female orangutan's strong attachment to a staff nurse causes developmental issues. Sanctuary staff head out to investigate reports of a wild male spotted on a plantation outside the borders of the reserve.
8. Baby Boom
There's a baby boom at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, and paternity tests reveal which local males are the fathers. The orphaned babies get their worming injections to keep them parasite-free.
