Return of the documentary following RAC patrols, heavy-vehicle recovery specialists, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Highways England, and council snowplough drivers working tirelessly to make sure the UK does not grind to a halt when bad weather arrives. As winter kicks off with Storm Angus, gale force winds and heavy rains cause floods on Britain's roads, while disaster strikes off the coast of Dover when a cargo ship smashes into another vessel and begins taking on water
2. Storm Surge
In Essex, RAC patrolman Simon fights through a blizzard to get to a woman who has broken down on a busy A-road at night, struggling to locate the stranded driver and facing a tricky fix to get her safely back on her way. In Lowestoft, coastguards have their work cut out to keep the public safe as a red alert is issued for a huge tidal surge
3. Ice Chaos
In Lancashire, Highways England traffic officers Jason and Barry rush to a serious incident in which a car hangs precariously above a motorway, while 10 fire engines tackle a blazing lorry on the M6. In Northamptonshire, recovery specialist Jamie is called to the scene of a crash where a mangled car has been abandoned by its driver
4. Fatal Fog
In Northumbria, the pressure is on as specialist heavy recovery driver Michael tries to retrieve a lorry that has careered off the carriageway into a ditch. Meanwhile on a foggy and snow-covered A-road, Phil of Reading breakdown patrol tries to get a stranded driver up and running as traffic thunders by, while officers from Thames Valley Police recall a notorious Valentine's Day pile-up that involved 40 vehicles.
