Overview
Last of the Summer Wine's fourth series originally aired on BBC1 between 9 November 1977 and 4 January 1978. All episodes from this series were written by Roy Clarke and produced and directed by Sydney Lotterby. The fourth series was released on DVD in region 2 as a combined box set with series 3 on 26 July 2004. A box set featuring just series 4 was released for region 1 on 9 September 2008.

When one of Compo's ferrets escapes and takes residence in Nora's house, it's up to Wally Batty to get it back safely.
2. Getting On Sydney's Wire
Sid's plan to install a new bell for the cafe door is doomed from the moment he asks for the help of the trio.
3. Jubilee
Keen to celebrate the Silver Jubilee, Foggy decides the trio should have their own float.
4. Flower Power Cut
Some people talk to trees, but Clegg is serenading flowers in the cafe...
5. Who's Made A Bit Of A Splash In Wales Then?
Foggy visits a lady friend in Wales, but trouble is soon at the door when Compo and Clegg go after him.
6. Greenfingers
The British vegetable is in deterioration due to a lack of good honest "muck" - where can the trio get hold of good fresh vegetables?
7. A Merry Heatwave
Nora's brother is near to death and not likely to see another Christmas. So Foggy decides to re-create an old-fashioned Christmas-in the middle of a sweltering hot summer.
8. The Bandit From Stoke-On-Trent
When "laugh a minute" Amos Hames, who toured Europe during the 1940's returns to town after many years, suspicions arise about the reason for his return.
