A daredevil race car driver is found beaten to death at the track. Rocky and Sgt. Hart arrive on the scene and find a oil smudge near the murder which may provide the clue to break the case.

A gun is found next to a body, giving the appearance of suicide. Rocky believes the weapon was planted and launches an investigation of murder.
