Hoping to wipe the smiles off the Eggheads' faces today are the Clubturns. This team of friends met on the entertainment circuit, performing in Northern clubs.

Hoping to scramble the Eggheads today are the Lady Ratlings, who are all members of The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings, an organisation for showbusiness professionals.

Hoping they've got all the answers today are the Tim Gyda I, who met through the Online Quiz League. They recently won division two and have now moved up to division one.

Clashing against the titans of quiz today are the No Hopers. They do a lot of quizzing together and their team name comes from an old sea shanty called No Hopers, Jokers and Rogues.

Today's challengers are Steggle's Stans, who met while studying Computer Science at Newcastle University and named their team after their favourite lecturer Dr Steggle.

Hoping to sink our quizzing giants today are Off the Piste, a friends and family team who share a passion for skiing who regularly hit the slopes together on foreign trips.

Hoping to vanquish our brainy behemoths today are Quality of Mercians, who met quizzing online. Their name comes from the ancient area of Mercia where they all live.

Challenging the might of the quiz goliaths today are the Fine Young Bramptonians. Paul, Stewart and Chris regularly quiz at a pub in Brampton, where Shannon used to tend the bar.
