A trio of Marx brothers-esque dogs called the Three Wise Guys arrive at the Pound in search of the Star Pup, a dog destined to defeat Captain Slaughter. The Star Pup is easily identified by a star-shaped birthmark. But when Nose Marie is suddenly idenified as the Star Pup by the mark on her neck, she is celebrated. But does she have the knowhow to beat the captain?

Someone or something has been stealing the puppies' items: Cooler's blanket, Nose Marie's necklace, Bright Eyes' doll and Whopper's squeak toy...
