Here at the Dog Academy

Silvano meets his new guide dog, Darcy. After saying goodbye to his previous dog, it’s exciting to see whether there will be a new connection. They head out together and take their first steps as a team. We also see how foster families prepare young pups for their future, and what it means when a dog doesn’t make it through the training.

We follow instructor Marlouke during her visits to clients Nynke and Sandra, who are bound to a wheelchair. We see how ADL assistance dogs are trained by trainer Priscilla to help with daily activities. And we experience how young pups are tested to make the best match with the family where they will spend their first year.

We meet Edwin, who has regained control of his daily life thanks to his PTSD assistance dog Arcus. We also join staff member Renske during a city evaluation with dog Vellon. Will he succeed and be allowed to go to school to start a career? And we are present when an assistance dog is trained to wake her owner from a nightmare or flashback.
