Overview
The residents of an idyllic seaside cul-de-sac face an ongoing feud over a corrupt land development deal and the supposed suicide of one of them. Ava Gardner joins the cast.

Harry drives one baby away and Sheila stays in the house with the other. Val cannot retrieve her children.

Hospital records suggest Val's babies were born dead. Mack finds Nurse Wislon. Karen brings Val two surprises.

Val finally gets to enjoy her children, but now Ben worries she won't have any time for him.
4. The Christening
Val allows Harry and Sheila to say good-bye to the twins. Mack meets with the governor's assistant.
5. A Little Assistance
Cathy has worrying bruises on her face. Sumner hires a male secretary, and Mack investigates adoption rings.
6. A Question of Trust
Elliott corroborates the phony geological survey to Gary. Cavanaugh's nurse agrees to testify against him.

Gary realizes he may be the father of the twins. The survey company lies to Gary and admits it made a mistake.
8. Pictures at a Wedding
Val and Ben reveal their engagement. Karen hosts a wedding at Lotus Point. Val insists Joshua leave her home.

Val and Ben get married. Lilimae realizes Joshua is dangerous. Elliott is involved in a terrible accident.

Joshua concocts a plan for Cathy and him to remain together...forever.

Gary discovers the survey plans are fake. Lilimae tries to make it appear Joshua was a good person.

Lilimae tries to interfere with Cathy's career. Linda tells police Joshua didn't commit suicide.

Gary tells Val he knows he's the father of the twins. Ken is indicted for Joshua's murder. Cathy feels guilt.

Gary and Jill go on a date. Cathy confesses the truth about Joshua's death. Laura and Sumner get closer.

Karen loses the planning commission job to Abby. Cathy and Lilimae talk to the police about Joshua's death.
