Season 29
Overview
With the new season came a new Premier League, a new contract and a new show, fronted by Des Lynam. Des was joined by new regular pundits, Alan Hansen and Trevor Brooking, and the show reverted to the classic format of extended highlights from three main games. Now, however, as well as all the extra analysis, viewers were also able to see the goals from all the other matches as well.

The FA Cup is still the one domestic honour to have eluded Brian Clough. But the signing of Neil Webb and the form of Roy Keane could prove decisive. Meanwhile Southampton had a poor start in the league but have improved recently.
22. 4th January 1993: FA Cup Third Round: Queens Park Rangers v Swindon Town
Many think QPR are one of the best footballing sides in the Premier League. Their manager, former England captain Gerry Francis, has successfully moulded experience with young talent to take on clubs with greater resources. But Glen Hoddle's Swindon are one of the best passing teams in the country and should prove a test for them.

They meet a Wednesday side who have beaten four First Division teams to reach this stage and who boast the skills of Chris Waddle and the goal-scoring record of defender turned striker Paul Warhurst.

The two great north London rivals meet in a repeat of their semi-final at Wembley two years ago. On that occasion Spurs were victorious, winning 3-1 with former stars Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne playing major roles.
