Smyrna my Beloved: The Series

Lesbos, 2015. The island is overwhelmed by thousands of refugees. An elderly American woman, Philio Williams, offers a large sum to support the refugees. Her granddaughter, not knowing about her past, is unable to understand the reason.

Smyrna, 1917. Filios' daughter falls in love with Eddie Whittall, of the largest Levantine family, despite his grandmother's objections. World War I ends with the victory of Greece's allies and the defeat of Germany and Turkey.

Smyrna, 1920. The Turks rally with Kemal as their leader. The harmonious relationship between the two peoples and the peace in the family home are destroyed. Filios' only joy is her daughter's engagement. Halil confesses his love to her.

Smyrna, 1922. The Smyrna people, sure of their safety, continue their lives despite the defeat of the Greeks. The Chetes enter the city and fiercely persecute the Christians. Who will manage to save themselves from the Baltatzi family?
